general rules

Fifteen minutes will be allowed in the field to point up to three birds.  A blank gun will be fired in all divisions at the flush of the bird.

A short back course will be followed by a bird field . 

Time will be called at the flush of the third bird. 

Four birds will be maintained in the field at all times . 

E collars are allowed due to the possibility of a rabbit or turkey encounter in the area.        

open puppy division

dogs must be under twelve months of age to compete in the open puppy division . 

All of the above rules apply .   

Open young dog division

Dogs must be under the age of 24 months to compete in the open young dog division .     All of the above rules apply . 

Open limited all age

Dogs of any age may enter this division . 

All the above rules apply to this division, however, in addition to the above rules all dogs will be given the opportunity to demonstrate an honor of another dogs point prior to leaving the field .  A backing or honoring silhouette will be used to demonstrate the ability of the all-age dog to honor  another dogs point .

Two man one dog shoot-off division

Any pointing dog may enter this division . 

Teams will be allowed twenty minutes to point, and shoot, and retrieve three birds . 

Safety rules will apply . Shot size 7 1/2 or smaller will be used .  You'll provide your own shotgun and shot shells

Birds must be brought to within  two steps of any hunter .

100 points for each point , 100 points for each kill, 100 points for each retrieve. 

Time stops when the third bird is delivered . 

Any judging questions will be handled in the field via radio by the event director.
